Description

Crisp, cheesy, and topped with seasoned beef, these loaded fries are perfect for sharing or enjoying on a cozy night.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds frozen french fries
  • 8 ounces ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven according to the directions on your fry package.
  2. Arrange the frozen fries in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet; don’t overcrowd them.
  3. Bake the fries as directed until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium and add the ground beef.
  5. Cook the beef, breaking it up, until browned, then season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  6. Drain the excess grease and return the beef to the pan for a quick reheat if needed.
  7. Transfer the fries to an oven-safe dish, scattering the cooked beef over them.
  8. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar across the top and return to the oven just long enough for the cheese to melt (2-4 minutes).
  9. Remove from the oven and add spoonfuls of sour cream on top, finishing with chopped chives.
  10. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra crispiness, broil the cheese briefly but watch closely to prevent burning. Customize toppings to suit your taste.
