Crisp, cheesy, and topped with seasoned beef, these loaded fries are perfect for sharing or enjoying on a cozy night.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds frozen french fries
- 8 ounces ground beef
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven according to the directions on your fry package.
- Arrange the frozen fries in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet; don’t overcrowd them.
- Bake the fries as directed until golden brown and crispy.
- Heat a skillet over medium and add the ground beef.
- Cook the beef, breaking it up, until browned, then season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Drain the excess grease and return the beef to the pan for a quick reheat if needed.
- Transfer the fries to an oven-safe dish, scattering the cooked beef over them.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar across the top and return to the oven just long enough for the cheese to melt (2-4 minutes).
- Remove from the oven and add spoonfuls of sour cream on top, finishing with chopped chives.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
For extra crispiness, broil the cheese briefly but watch closely to prevent burning. Customize toppings to suit your taste.
