Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 to 1 1/2 cups)
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until they’re mostly smooth.
- Stir in the melted butter until fully combined.
- Mix in the granulated sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until blended.
- Sprinkle the baking soda and salt into the mixture and stir gently.
- Fold in the all-purpose flour, mixing just until combined; don’t overmix.
- Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan, smoothing it out evenly.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes. Check for doneness using a toothpick—when it comes out clean, it’s ready!
- Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
For a heartier texture, substitute whole wheat flour; for a deeper flavor, use brown sugar.
