Description
Beer brats blend hearty bratwurst with the rich flavors of beer, making them the perfect comfort food for gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 package bratwurst sausages
- 1 bottle lager or ale beer
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- Mustard, to taste
- Soft, fresh buns
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add sliced onions and cook until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the bratwurst to the skillet.
- Pour enough beer to cover the sausages completely.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 20-30 minutes.
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
- Transfer bratwurst to the grill and cook for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally until browned.
- Serve in buns, topped with caramelized onions and mustard.
Notes
Feel free to use non-alcoholic beer or different mustard varieties. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
