Description

Delicious and easy BBQ chicken made in a crockpot, perfect for busy weeknights or gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 1/4 cups barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup fat-free Italian dressing
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prep your crockpot: Spray the inside with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Season the chicken: Lightly sprinkle the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder, ensuring they’re evenly coated.
  3. Make the sauce: In a mixing bowl, combine barbecue sauce, Italian dressing, light brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Whisk until smooth.
  4. Combine: Pour the sauce over the chicken in the crockpot, making sure every piece is nicely coated.
  5. Cook: Cover and cook on high for 150-180 minutes or on low for 300-360 minutes, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  6. Shred and serve: Once cooked, shred the chicken directly in the crockpot using two forks. It’s ready to enjoy!

Notes

Don’t overcrowd the crockpot, and check doneness with a meat thermometer.
