Description

A warm, cheesy, and easy casserole featuring shredded chicken, ranch dressing, tater tots, and cheddar cheese, perfect for weeknight dinners and potlucks.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup ranch dressing
  • 3 cups frozen tater tots
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine shredded chicken, ranch dressing, garlic powder, and onion powder. Season with salt and pepper; stir until coated.
  3. Spread the chicken mixture in an even layer in the baking dish.
  4. Arrange tater tots in a single layer on top of the chicken.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the tater tots.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden and bubbly. Rotate halfway if necessary.
  7. Let rest for 5 minutes, garnish with green onions, and serve warm.

Notes

For a lighter option, replace half the ranch with plain Greek yogurt. Use dairy-free cheddar and a vegan ranch to make it plant-based. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3-4 days.
