Description

Delicious chewy cookies made with ripe bananas and wholesome oats, perfect for a snack, breakfast on the go, or a healthier dessert.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose or whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the mashed bananas, rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, honey (or maple syrup), baking soda, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  3. If desired, fold in the chocolate chips or nuts for an extra burst of flavor.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart to allow for spreading.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  6. Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a chewier texture, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Feel free to customize with your favorite mix-ins!
