Description

Succulent shrimp tacos infused with zesty lime and fragrant cilantro, topped with creamy slaw for a refreshing and flavorful feast.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb wild-caught shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest (from 1 lime)
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice (from that same lime)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ½ bunch cilantro, finely chopped
  • 3 cups finely shredded green cabbage
  • ½ cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice (from 1 whole lime)
  • Avocado, sliced
  • 8 6-inch tortillas (corn or flour)
  • Extra lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the shrimp with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and chili powder. Mix well to ensure each shrimp is coated.
  2. Heat the olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the seasoned shrimp and sauté for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are opaque and cooked through.
  3. While the shrimp cooks, whisk together lime zest, lime juice, and honey in a bowl. Stir in the chopped cilantro.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine shredded cabbage, Greek yogurt, and the remaining lime juice. Mix until well-coated, then fold in the rest of the cilantro.
  5. Warm your tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave.
  6. To assemble, layer the creamy slaw on the tortilla, top with shrimp, and add avocado slices. Serve with lime wedges on the side for an extra zing!

Notes

For additional crunch in the slaw, consider adding sliced radishes or carrots. Customize the proteins according to your preference.
