Description

A hearty and comforting dish made with ground beef, tater tots, and gooey cheese, perfect for weeknight dinners or family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 or 85/15)
  • 1 can (15 oz) corn, drained
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or Mexican blend)
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and return the beef to the skillet.
  3. Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper; simmer for 1–2 minutes.
  4. Spread the beef mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish. Layer the drained corn and shredded cheese on top.
  5. Arrange the frozen tater tots over the cheese.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and the filling is bubbling. If needed, tent with foil if the tots brown too quickly.
  7. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Feel free to substitute the cream of mushroom soup for cream of chicken for a different flavor. Top with fresh cilantro or jalapeños for extra kick.
