Description
A hearty and comforting dish made with ground beef, tater tots, and gooey cheese, perfect for weeknight dinners or family gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 or 85/15)
- 1 can (15 oz) corn, drained
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or Mexican blend)
- 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and return the beef to the skillet.
- Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper; simmer for 1–2 minutes.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish. Layer the drained corn and shredded cheese on top.
- Arrange the frozen tater tots over the cheese.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and the filling is bubbling. If needed, tent with foil if the tots brown too quickly.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Feel free to substitute the cream of mushroom soup for cream of chicken for a different flavor. Top with fresh cilantro or jalapeños for extra kick.
