Description

A quick and creamy garlic shrimp dish that delivers restaurant-quality flavor in under 20 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the butter. Let it melt and begin to sizzle.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, stirring constantly to avoid burning.
  3. Increase the heat slightly and add the shrimp in a single layer. Cook until they turn pink and opaque, about 2–3 minutes total. Remove the shrimp if you prefer to finish the sauce separately.
  4. Lower the heat to medium-low. Pour in the heavy cream and stir, scraping browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  5. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is smooth.
  6. Return shrimp to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and let the sauce thicken slightly, cooking another 2–3 minutes. Do not overcook shrimp.
  7. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

If using frozen shrimp, thaw completely and pat very dry to avoid steaming. Use unsalted butter for tighter salt control. Freshly grated Parmesan melts better than pre-grated.
