Description

A vibrant and flavorful dish combining Jamaican spices with creamy pasta, featuring colorful bell peppers and succulent shrimp.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces pasta (fettuccine or penne)
  • 1 pound shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 tablespoons jerk seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 red bell pepper (sliced)
  • 1 yellow bell pepper (sliced)
  • 1 green bell pepper (sliced)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the shrimp and sprinkle with jerk seasoning. Cook until the shrimp turn pink and are fully cooked, about 3-5 minutes. Remove the shrimp and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the garlic and bell peppers. Sauté until tender, which should take about 5 minutes.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine, and bring to a simmer.
  6. Add the cooked pasta along with the shrimp back to the skillet. Mix well to coat everything in the delicious sauce.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and finish with a garnish of chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

For added depth, consider marinating the shrimp in the jerk seasoning for at least 30 minutes before cooking. Adjust the spice level by adding more or less jerk seasoning according to your taste preference.
