Tender chicken thighs cooked in a rich bourbon sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1 cup bourbon
- 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Green onions for garnish
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the bourbon, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, ketchup, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.
- Place the chicken thighs in your crock pot and pour the bourbon mixture over them, ensuring they’re well-coated.
- Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
- If preferred, shred the chicken with two forks and mix it back into the sauce.
- Serve hot over rice or noodles, garnished with chopped green onions for a fresh touch.
Notes
To enhance flavors, quickly sauté garlic and ginger before mixing into the sauce. Experiment with spices for a unique twist.
