Description

Tender chicken thighs cooked in a rich bourbon sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup bourbon
  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the bourbon, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, ketchup, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.
  2. Place the chicken thighs in your crock pot and pour the bourbon mixture over them, ensuring they’re well-coated.
  3. Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
  4. If preferred, shred the chicken with two forks and mix it back into the sauce.
  5. Serve hot over rice or noodles, garnished with chopped green onions for a fresh touch.

Notes

To enhance flavors, quickly sauté garlic and ginger before mixing into the sauce. Experiment with spices for a unique twist.
