Description

A rustic, golden-crusted bread infused with everything bagel seasoning, easy to make with minimal effort.


Ingredients

  • 3-1/4 cups bread flour or all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon fine salt
  • 2 tablespoons everything bagel seasoning, divided
  • 1-1/2 cups warm water (about 100–110°F / slightly warm to the touch)


Instructions

  1. Whisk together the flour, instant yeast, salt, and 1 tablespoon of everything bagel seasoning in a large bowl.
  2. Add the warm water slowly and stir with a large fork or dough whisk until everything forms a shaggy, wet mass.
  3. Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and let rest for 12–24 hours until bubbly.
  4. Dust a sheet of parchment with flour, turn the dough out onto it, and fold the edges to create a round shape.
  5. Score the top with a shallow X and let rest for 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat the Dutch oven to 450°F for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Brush the loaf with warm water and sprinkle with remaining everything bagel seasoning.
  8. Carefully lower the dough into the pot and bake covered for 30 minutes.
  9. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until deep golden brown.
  10. Transfer to a cooling rack and let cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Best served warm with butter or for sandwiches. Can be stored in a paper bag at room temperature for 2-3 days.
