Description

Quick and customizable homemade granola bars that are perfect for busy mornings or after-school snacks.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup chopped almonds
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter or almond butter
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup dried fruit, chopped (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together rolled oats, chopped almonds, and salt until combined.
  3. In a saucepan over low heat, combine the honey (or maple syrup) and peanut butter (or almond butter) until smooth.
  4. Pour the warm mixture over the dry ingredients and stir until thoroughly combined.
  5. Gently fold in the mini chocolate chips and dried fruit, if using.
  6. Press the mixture firmly into the prepared pan, ensuring it’s evenly spread.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  8. Let the granola bars cool completely in the pan before slicing into individual bars.

Notes

For chewier bars, reduce baking time slightly. Store in an airtight container for up to a week, or freeze with parchment paper between bars.
