Quick and customizable homemade granola bars that are perfect for busy mornings or after-school snacks.
Ingredients
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup chopped almonds
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 cup peanut butter or almond butter
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup dried fruit, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix together rolled oats, chopped almonds, and salt until combined.
- In a saucepan over low heat, combine the honey (or maple syrup) and peanut butter (or almond butter) until smooth.
- Pour the warm mixture over the dry ingredients and stir until thoroughly combined.
- Gently fold in the mini chocolate chips and dried fruit, if using.
- Press the mixture firmly into the prepared pan, ensuring it’s evenly spread.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Let the granola bars cool completely in the pan before slicing into individual bars.
Notes
For chewier bars, reduce baking time slightly. Store in an airtight container for up to a week, or freeze with parchment paper between bars.
