Ingredients

  • 500g bread flour
  • 375g water
  • 10g salt
  • 100g sourdough starter


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the bread flour and water until a shaggy dough forms.
  2. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
  3. Add the salt and sourdough starter. Mix thoroughly until combined.
  4. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Transfer to a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 4 to 8 hours, until doubled in size.
  6. Shape the dough into a ball and rest for another 30 minutes.
  7. Shape again into a loaf and place in a proofing basket. Cover and let it rise for another 2 to 4 hours.
  8. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) with a Dutch oven inside.
  9. Transfer the dough into the hot Dutch oven, cover it, and bake for 30 minutes.
  10. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Cool on a wire rack before slicing to enjoy.
