Description
A delightful fusion of bold Old Bay seasoning and succulent shrimp paired with tender pasta, creating a quick and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 12 oz linguine or spaghetti
- 1 lb large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1½ tbsp Old Bay seasoning, divided
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- Juice and zest of 1 lemon
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
- Grated Parmesan (optional)
- ½ cup reserved pasta water
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, toss the shrimp with 1 tablespoon of Old Bay seasoning, salt, and olive oil until coated.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the shrimp for 1-2 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
- Lower the heat to medium and melt the butter in the same skillet. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
- Pour in the lemon juice, zest, red pepper flakes, remaining Old Bay seasoning, and reserved pasta water. Stir well to combine.
- Add the cooked pasta and shrimp back into the skillet, tossing until everything is well-coated and heated through.
- Top with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan if desired, and serve hot.
Notes
For a Mediterranean flair, toss in sun-dried tomatoes and feta cheese. For a vegan option, substitute shrimp with sautéed mushrooms or zucchini.
