Description
Creamy, comforting, and easy slow cooker angel chicken served over delicate angel hair pasta.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 packet (about 1 oz) Italian dressing mix
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 8 oz angel hair pasta
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Pat the chicken breasts dry and season lightly with salt and pepper. Arrange them in a single layer in the slow cooker.
- Sprinkle the packet of Italian dressing mix evenly over the chicken.
- In a medium bowl, add the cream of chicken soup and slightly softened cream cheese. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and free of lumps.
- Pour the soup and cream cheese mixture over the chicken, covering as much surface as possible. Do not stir.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 6–8 hours or on HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the thickest part of the chicken reaches 165°F and the meat is tender.
- About 10 minutes before serving, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the angel hair pasta according to package directions (usually 3–5 minutes). Drain the pasta well.
- Serve: place a portion of pasta on each plate, top with a chicken breast, and spoon generous amounts of the creamy sauce over everything. Garnish with chopped parsley if using.
Notes
For shredded chicken, remove breasts and shred with two forks, then return to the sauce. If the sauce is too thick after sitting, stir in a splash of milk or broth before serving.
