Description

Deliciously soft and chewy cookies that combine the comforting flavors of banana bread with chocolate chips.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter until it turns golden brown. Pour it into a bowl and let it cool slightly.
  2. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a separate bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. Combine them with the brown butter, brown sugar, white sugar, and vanilla extract. Whisk until fluffy.
  4. In another bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon together. Gradually fold this dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined to avoid overmixing.
  5. Carefully mix in the chocolate chips and chopped pecans if desired.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, ensuring there’s enough space between each cookie.
  7. Place the tray in the oven and bake for 12-18 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Allow the cookies to cool slightly before enjoying.

Notes

Serve warm with cold milk or coffee. For an indulgent dessert, pair with vanilla ice cream.
