Description
A comforting dish featuring tender chicken breasts topped with creamy sour cream and gooey melted Jack cheese, perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.
Ingredients
- 3-4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup shredded Jack cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- ½ cup sour cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped green onions and paprika for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Rub olive oil over the chicken breasts and season them with salt and pepper.
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, sear the chicken until golden brown on both sides (approximately 5 minutes for each side).
- Add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth and let it simmer while scraping any flavorful bits from the pan.
- Stir in the sour cream, mixing to combine, and allow the mixture to bubble for about 5 minutes.
- Top each chicken breast generously with shredded Jack cheese.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for about 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of paprika before serving.
Notes
Feel free to substitute the chicken with turkey for a leaner version, or use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream for a healthy twist.
