Description
A delicious twist on classic deviled eggs, featuring a crispy coating and a spicy Cajun filling that is perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients
- 6 large eggs
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- Oil for frying
- Paprika for garnish
Instructions
- Start by hard boiling the eggs. Place them in a pot with cold water, bring it to a boil, then cover and remove from heat. Let them sit for about 10-12 minutes.
- Transfer the eggs to an ice bath to cool. This makes peeling them much easier.
- Once cooled, peel the eggs and slice them in half lengthwise, scooping the yolks into a bowl.
- Mash the yolks with mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper until the mixture is smooth.
- Fill the egg whites with the yolk mixture generously.
- Roll the filled egg halves in breadcrumbs to ensure they are well-coated.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat, then fry the eggs until they are golden brown on both sides.
- Remove the fried eggs and let them drain on paper towels. Finally, sprinkle with paprika before serving for an eye-catching finish.
Notes
For extra crunch, consider double-dipping the egg halves in breadcrumbs. You can also experiment with various seasonings.
