Description
Chocolate Mousse Brownies are the ultimate indulgence for chocolate lovers, merging fudgy brownies with rich chocolate mousse into one decadent treat.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- Whipped cream for serving (optional)
- Cocoa powder for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and line a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Once fully melted, remove it from the heat and mix in sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth and combined.
- Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt in another bowl. Slowly incorporate this dry mixture into the wet ingredients, making sure not to overmix.
- Spread the brownie batter into your prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan.
- Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until it just simmers, then remove from heat and add the chopped chocolate. Stir until smooth and let it cool slightly.
- Whip the chocolate mixture using an electric mixer until soft peaks form. Spread this lovely mousse over the cooled brownies and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
- Slice the brownies when ready to serve and optionally top with whipped cream and dust with cocoa powder for a chic presentation.
Notes
For optimal results, let the brownies cool completely before adding the mousse. Use chilled equipment when whipping the mousse for a fluffy texture.
