Description

Chocolate Mousse Brownies are the ultimate indulgence for chocolate lovers, merging fudgy brownies with rich chocolate mousse into one decadent treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • Whipped cream for serving (optional)
  • Cocoa powder for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and line a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Once fully melted, remove it from the heat and mix in sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth and combined.
  3. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt in another bowl. Slowly incorporate this dry mixture into the wet ingredients, making sure not to overmix.
  4. Spread the brownie batter into your prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan.
  5. Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until it just simmers, then remove from heat and add the chopped chocolate. Stir until smooth and let it cool slightly.
  6. Whip the chocolate mixture using an electric mixer until soft peaks form. Spread this lovely mousse over the cooled brownies and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
  7. Slice the brownies when ready to serve and optionally top with whipped cream and dust with cocoa powder for a chic presentation.

Notes

For optimal results, let the brownies cool completely before adding the mousse. Use chilled equipment when whipping the mousse for a fluffy texture.
