Description
A refreshing salad featuring green peas, creamy dressing, and crispy bacon, perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients
- 2 cups green peas (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your preference)
- 1/2 cup crumbled bacon (crispy for texture)
- 1/4 cup chopped onion (red or green)
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Begin by cooking the peas. If using fresh ones, blanch them in boiling water for about 2 minutes until they’re tender and bright green. For frozen peas, simply thaw them.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the green peas, shredded cheese, crumbled bacon, and chopped onion. Gently toss to mix.
- In a smaller bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Pour the creamy dressing over the pea mixture and gently fold everything together until well combined.
- Chill the salad in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld.
Notes
For a lighter option, Greek yogurt can replace the mayonnaise without compromising the creaminess. You can also substitute the cheese or bacon based on your dietary preferences.
