Description

A refreshing salad featuring green peas, creamy dressing, and crispy bacon, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups green peas (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your preference)
  • 1/2 cup crumbled bacon (crispy for texture)
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion (red or green)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Begin by cooking the peas. If using fresh ones, blanch them in boiling water for about 2 minutes until they’re tender and bright green. For frozen peas, simply thaw them.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the green peas, shredded cheese, crumbled bacon, and chopped onion. Gently toss to mix.
  3. In a smaller bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. Pour the creamy dressing over the pea mixture and gently fold everything together until well combined.
  5. Chill the salad in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld.

Notes

For a lighter option, Greek yogurt can replace the mayonnaise without compromising the creaminess. You can also substitute the cheese or bacon based on your dietary preferences.
