Description

A comforting and easy homemade strawberry cobbler packed with juicy, fresh strawberries, ideal for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 3/4 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (divided use)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) melted butter
  • 3/4 cup milk (whole or low-fat)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Combine the sliced strawberries with 1/4 cup of sugar, lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon of flour in a large bowl. Allow this mixture to sit for about 10 minutes.
  3. Whisk together the remaining flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in another bowl.
  4. Pour in the melted butter and milk, stirring until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into the greased baking dish, then spoon the strawberry mixture evenly over the top.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the cobbler is golden brown and the edges are bubbling.
  7. Let it cool for 15 minutes before serving warm, preferably with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using ripe strawberries and experimenting with different fruit combinations.
