Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon instant coffee granules
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
  2. Mix the melted butter, granulated sugar, and instant coffee granules until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the mixture, stirring until smooth.
  4. Fold in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips for that extra fudgy texture.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick; it should come out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Prepare the coffee frosting while the brownies cool. Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until simmering, then remove from heat. Whisk in powdered sugar and additional coffee until smooth.
