Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2-3 fresh jalapeños, sliced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Burger buns
- Cheese slices (optional)
- Cooking oil
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a splash of cooking oil.
- Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, stirring occasionally. Once done, remove the onions and set aside.
- In the same skillet, form the ground beef into patties and smash them down. Season generously with salt and pepper.
- Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip. If you’re adding cheese, place it on top with jalapeño slices.
- Cook an additional 3-4 minutes or until the burgers reach your desired doneness.
- Toast the burger buns in the skillet until golden brown.
- Assemble your burger with the patty, caramelized onions, and any additional toppings you desire. Serve immediately!
Notes
For a twist, try adding avocado, guacamole, or spicy mayo as toppings.
