Ingredients
- 12 slices white bread
- 8 oz deli ham
- 8 oz deli turkey
- 8 oz Swiss cheese
- 6 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp cayenne
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
- Raspberry jam (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease your baking dish with melted butter.
- Layer 6 slices of bread evenly at the bottom of the dish.
- Add half of the deli ham, half of the turkey, and half of the Swiss cheese over the bread.
- Repeat the layering with the remaining bread, meats, and cheese.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, Dijon mustard, salt, black pepper, and cayenne until well combined.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered dish.
- For best results, let the casserole sit for 30 minutes or refrigerate overnight for deeper flavor.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the top is golden brown.
- Dust with powdered sugar just before serving, and consider offering raspberry jam on the side for a sweet dip.
