Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 large eggs
- Pink food coloring
- Buttercream frosting
- Optional: Edible flowers or additional decorations
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
- Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Gradually whisk this dry mixture into the wet ingredients, just until combined.
- Divide the batter between two bowls. Stir pink food coloring into one bowl until your desired shade is achieved.
- Pour the batters into the prepared pans, alternating the pink and white batter to create a marbled effect.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
- Frost with your favorite buttercream and decorate as desired.
Notes
Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature for better mixing. Don’t overmix the batter once the flour is added.
