A scrumptious pastry blending rich flavors of cheese, bacon, and spinach, perfect for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.
Ingredients
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar recommended)
- 1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
- 1 cup chopped spinach (fresh or frozen, thawed and drained)
- 1 package puff pastry (thawed)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Combine the shredded cheese, crumbled bacon, and chopped spinach in a mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut it into squares.
- Spoon a generous amount of the filling mixture into the center of each pastry square.
- Fold the squares to create pockets. Press the edges together and use a fork to seal.
- Beat the egg in a small bowl; brush it over the top of each pastry.
- Place the pastries on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
Notes
To prevent soggy bottoms, ensure the puff pastry is well-chilled before baking. You can freeze unbaked pastries for up to 2 months.
