Description

A delightful fusion of creamy ricotta and fresh strawberries served on toasted baguette slices, perfect for appetizers or brunch.


Ingredients

  • 1 French baguette, sliced into ½-inch thick rounds
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese (whole milk preferred)
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves, finely sliced (for garnish)
  • Balsamic glaze, to drizzle on top


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush each with olive oil.
  3. Bake for 6-8 minutes until the slices are golden and crisp. Let them cool slightly afterward.
  4. Combine the ricotta cheese with salt, pepper, and the optional honey in a small bowl, mixing until smooth.
  5. Wash and chop the strawberries into small pieces; set aside.
  6. Spread the ricotta mixture onto each toasted baguette slice.
  7. Top with chopped strawberries, then drizzle with balsamic glaze.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
