Description

A delightful dessert featuring layers of sweet strawberries, fluffy whipped cream, and soft cake, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pound cake or sponge cake, cut into cubes
  • 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened (optional)
  • Fresh strawberries and mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine sliced strawberries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice in a medium bowl. Stir well and let sit for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form. If using cream cheese, beat it separately until smooth, then fold into the whipped cream.
  3. Cut the cake into 1-inch cubes.
  4. Layer the ingredients in a large trifle bowl, starting with a layer of cake cubes, followed by some strawberries and syrup, then a layer of whipped cream.
  5. Repeat the layering process until the bowl is filled, finishing with whipped cream on top.
  6. Decorate the top with fresh strawberries and mint leaves.
  7. Chill the trifle for at least 60 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve in individual cups or in a large bowl for a centerpiece. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
