Description

A delightful twist on the classic Italian dessert with creamy mascarpone, fresh strawberries, and coffee-soaked ladyfingers.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound strawberries, sliced
  • 8 oz mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup brewed coffee, cooled
  • 24 ladyfinger cookies
  • Cocoa powder, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together until soft peaks form.
  2. Carefully fold the mascarpone cheese into the whipped cream mixture, creating a smooth consistency.
  3. Dip each ladyfinger in the cooled coffee for just a few seconds, ensuring they’re soaked but not mushy.
  4. In a serving dish, layer the soaked ladyfingers, followed by a layer of the mascarpone mixture and a layer of sliced strawberries.
  5. Repeat the layers until all components are used, making sure the top layer is the mascarpone mixture.
  6. Dust the top with cocoa powder for a lovely finish.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 240 minutes, allowing the dessert to set beautifully.

Notes

Use fresh, ripe strawberries for the best flavor. It’s best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored for up to three days in the refrigerator.
