Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter (softened)
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter until it’s fluffy. Then add in the milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until everything is smooth and combined.
- Gradually fold the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Don’t overmix!
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow cooling on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
Dust with powdered sugar, serve with fresh berries, or top with ice cream for extra delight.
